March Book Haul

I am really awful with the whole ‘don’t buy more books’ thing. But I don’t care because I’ve got some amazing books in here to show you 🙂
In total, I’ve got 9 new books but one was on the February list too… So more like 8 new books and 4 of them are hardcovers. 🙂

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon (@NicolaYoon)

This book was a must-have for me after I read ‘The Sun Is Also a Star’! This is Nicola’s first book and I wanted to read it for a really long time. When I noticed that it is half the price in Waterstones I was like ‘it is a sign’. I also wanted to read it before the movie that I must see as soon as it will be in the cinema! I already read this book and rated it 5/5 stars, but I prefer ‘The Sun Is Also a Star’!

Everything, Everything is a book about a girl allergic to the world, as long as she remembers she never left the house. She never wanted to, but things changes when Olly us moving to the house next to hers. Are they able to find the way to each other?
Let’s find out!

I would recommend reading the book before watching the trailer for the movie because of spoilers!

The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr (@emily_barr)

This picture is about my beginnings at bookstagram, please don’t judge me 🙂

So this is the book that I also already read since this book was out in January in the UK but USA need to wait a little longer (I am pretty sure that publication is in May around there) I like how shiny the UK version is in real life!
After I read the book sampler from February FairyLoot I knew that I need to read it ASAP.

The story is about a girl named Flora that has a short-term memory. Basically, her memory resets after a couple of hours. She can’t remember anything after the age of 10. Till one day she remembers the kiss with Drake, it is the only memory that stayed with her.
Sadly, the boy is not longer living it the same city. (Be aware that no matter how it sounds this is NOT a love story)

I had some issues with this book but overall I enjoyed it! I understand that because this is the story about amnesia some things will be repeated over and over again but there was a time in this book that I was soooo done with Drake and the kiss they shared. Still I would say this book is amazing and worth to give it a try. 🙂 I rated it 3/5 stars on Goodreads.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black (@hollyblack)

I read only one book by Holly Black which is ‘The Darkest Part of the Forest‘  and I love the writing style so the only option for me was to buy another book and look is it going to be dark and beautiful like the last one! I need to find out, since this book is still on my TBR.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown from what I heard is a story where people know that vampires exist and Coldtown is a place where if you will visit you’re never able to leave.

Optimists Die First by Susin Nielsen

This title really intrigue me! I didn’t hear anything about this book before but I did enjoy reading it! I finished it in one day!

Optimists Die First is not really a long book. It is about a girl that looks at everything like it is a threat to her life. She changed after an awful tragedy that happened years ago. She must go to therapy class with people that she doesn’t feel any connection with. One day there is the new guy- Jacob that has a prosthetic arm. He is confident and seems the most normal from people in her therapy class. She doesn’t like him at first but with time he might help her with her problems.

On the left, we can see the UK version and on the right the USA version of the cover.

Daughter of a Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller (@TriciaLevensell)

I am planning to start this book today so forgive me if I will not say much about it! I don’t know much about this book but from what I heard it’s amazing. I always liked pirates but I didn’t read many books about them so this one was a must-read for me.

It is described as ‘Lady Jack Sparrow’! I am ready for action, pirates, and adventure!

King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard (@VictoriaAveyard)

I think that most people heard about Red Queen series. This is the third book in the series, there is going to be one more book!
Victoria Aveyard is an amazing person as well as author! I really enjoyed Red Queen, there are people that love that book and other that don’t. I prefer book 1 rather than book 2, I am curious to start this one and find out what will happen. 🙂

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor (@lainitaylor)

Laini Taylor is the author of Daughter of Smoke and Bones trilogy. She has amazing and unique writing style, you will either love it or hate it. I am a big fan 🙂 I had the plan to buy it, but turns out that this book was in March FairyLoot box.

This is the book that even when you read what it is going to be about you still don’t know till you read it! 🙂 I am so excited about this one!

aaaand again Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

So, here I am with Wintersong… again. I’ve got another copy since this was the book in February Illumicrate box that I recived in March. 🙂
The cover is so gorgeous! You can’t convince me it’s otherwise. Look at it.

When I first heard about this book I was intrigued because It’s some kind of retelling of the movie Labyrinth with David Bowie in it.

Beware the goblin men and the wares they sell.

Our protagonist is Liesl. She’s 19 and from as long as she remembers she heard about the Goblin King. There was a time that she believed in him but at her age, she should leave the fantasy world, yet a part of her still can’t let go.

Liesl is an older sister, really caring one. She loves her brother and sister, but she loves music as well. Liesl was so focused on her brother and his music that did not notice that her sister is not happy with her life. One day Goblin King is kidnapping Liesl’s sister and to save her our protagonist needs to visit Underground and find her sister before it will be too late. The problem is that Goblin King can play with people’s minds and control the time.

I myself reading this book felt with S. Jae-Jones’s writing style. It is dark and beautiful. If you would like Wintersong I guess you would like The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black as well.

Special advanced reader copy of Red Sister by Mark Lawrance (@Mark__Lawrence)

The book will be released April 6 of this year but you can pre-order Red Sister right now!

“I was born for killing – the gods made me to ruin’

I don’t know much about the book more than this is going to be series about badass female lead!

That’s all in this book haul 🙂 Did you buy something interesting this month?
